There's a case to be made that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is playing like the best quarterback in football right now, and if he isn't, he's awfully close.

After yet another stellar showing in the 44-22 win over the Washington Commanders that saw Dak go 21 of 30 for 264 yards and three touchdowns (zero interceptions again) and a 130.4 rating, it now marks the fourth-straight game Dak has thrown for three or more touchdowns this season, taking his tally to 16 for the year.

Prescott is often much-maligned for reasons I don't fully understand, and yes, the playoff failures are real, but regular season? He's been a star, and he might be in the best form of his life, and CeeDee Lamb has noticed something rather interesting now that No. 4 is playing at an MVP level.

It's awfully quiet out in the media world.

"It's exciting, all the critics that was going on, you don't hear too much going on now," Lamb said. "Now they just waiting on something, and that's just how it is. For him, I know it's tough just being a quarterback for this franchise. It's a big burden, but I mean, there's a lot of people quiet right now, so I guess it's pretty good."

Dak Prescott in career-best form

Yes, it is seven games, I get that, but you can't deny how well Dak is playing right now.

Against Washington, he completed 70 percent of his passes, which is the fifth time this season he's done that, plus his 16-3 touchdown/interception ratio is sublime, and his 130.4 rating is the fourth-straight game where he's posted a rating of more than 124, so yeah, Prescott is playing well.

But even with Dak playing so well, Dallas is 3-3-1 due to the defensive performances, where Matt Eberflus' unit simply has trouble stopping anyone.

They did against the Commanders, and look what happened, an offensive explosion coupled with the defense holding up their end of the bargain.

If that happens more often than not, and Dak continues in this form, who knows what 2025 could look like for the Cowboys.
