FanDuel: Big Ten bowl game picks and predictions

How many bowls will the Big Ten win?

Bowl season is here, and while the Big Ten has three teams competing in the CFP, some of the league’s teams play their final game of the season as soon as this weekend.

Here you’ll find a full schedule of Big Ten bowl games (non-CFP) with their odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, and a few of my thoughts about what may happen in their 13th — and final — game.

L.A. Bowl – Washington -9.5 vs. Boise State (Dec. 13, 7 p.m. ABC)

The Huskies definitely have an offense and look like they’re primed to keep getting better as they enter year three in the Big Ten next fall. You don’t get a ton of practices when your bowl game is Dec. 13 — I didn’t know they even did one this early — and Boise State is a worthy opponent and was in the conversation to possibly crack the CFP for a second straight year. Give me the Huskies.

GameAbove Sports Bowl – Northwestern -10.5 vs. CMU (Dec. 26, 12 p.m. ESPN)

Who. Cares. If Northwestern is healthy — a big if after the Illinois game — they probably slam CMU. Next.

Rate Bowl – Minnesota -2.5 vs. New Mexico (Dec. 26, 3:30 p.m. ESPN)

Minnesota’s been winning a lot of games the last few years (13 since the start of 2024). I think PJ Fleck finds another way to win against a G5 school and end the season on a high note.

Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl – Penn State +3.5 vs. Clemson (Dec. 27, 11 a.m. ABC)

This is kind of fun, right? Two of the biggest brands in the sport playing in a baseball stadium. Who knows what kind of PSU you’re going to get? Is it going to be the top-five team, or the one that couldn’t buy a win in the middle of the season.

Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl – Illinois +5.5 vs. Tennessee (Dec. 30, 4:30 p.m. ESPN)

You’ll find tons of coverage of this game on this site over the next two weeks.

Valero Alamo Bowl – No. 16 USC -5.5 vs. TCU (Dec. 30, 8 p.m. ESPN)

I still think it’s fun how USC was getting a ton of CFP love the last few weeks as a contender (highest ranked Big Ten team not to make it!), but they went on the road and lost to Illinois. I’d like to see TCU and Sonny Dykes knock the Trojans off their pedestal. (Especially as Lincoln brings in the top freshman class in the country.)

ReliaQuest Bowl – No. 23 Iowa +6.5 vs. No. 14 Vanderbilt (Dec. 31, 11 a.m. ESPN)

I think we’re all rooting for Iowa (for once) to knock off Diego Pavia. Plus, the Hawkeyes have a real QB!

Cheez-It Citrus Bowl – No. 18 Michigan +5.5 vs. No. 13 Texas (Dec. 31, 2 p.m. ABC)

Props to both of these teams for playing this game and not complaining. I don’t care what happens, but I hope everyone has fun in Orlando.

SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl – Nebraska +15.5 vs. Utah (Dec. 31, 2:30 p.m. ESPN)

Dylan Raiola’s last game as a Husker (maybe???)????? I bet they get pounded to ring in 2026.
