Inter Milan 0-1 Liverpool – France Megastar & Italy Defender Fall Short Of Expectations

Marcus Thuram and Alessandro Bastoni faltered in Inter Milan’s controversial 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool last night.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the two Nerazzurri superstars fell short of expectations.

Despite scoring three goals in his last two domestic appearances, Marcus Thuram was a mere shadow of his true self yesterday.

Indeed, the French striker struggled to influence the game, frequently losing possession cheaply.

Furthermore, he failed to put Alisson Becker to the test, spending most of the night in the shadow of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.

In addition to Thuram, Alessandro Bastoni was unable to perform at his usual level.

Despite faring reasonably well for most of the game, the 26-year-old’s lapse in concentration cost Inter dearly.

Though referee Felix Zwayer harshly penalized his soft foul on Florian Wirtz, a player of Bastoni’s experience should’ve known better.

Indeed, he pulled the German midfielder’s shirt from the back, giving VAR enough reason to intervene and change Zwayer’s mind.
