Yes, there are more Knueppels on the way.
Duke fans got a really good sense of Kon Knueppel’s game last year but honestly: how many of you thought Knueppel would be a serious contender for Rookie of the Year?
We didn’t. Around here, we thought he’d be better than expected, but doing what he’s doing? Did we think he’d be blowing the league away? No.
In a year or two we figured he’d take off, but this soon? Honestly, no.
And then you think about the rest of them, because there are four more brothers behind Kon. Currently, the next two, Kager and Kinston, are on the team at Wisconsin Lutheran, and Kager is a 6-10 junior (Kinston is a sophomore). And if you think fans are paying more attention now after what Kon has done, you’d better believe recruiters are giving the rest of the Knueppels a very close look.
In this video, you’ll get a good idea of what the next two offer, and particularly Kager.
He’s quite a bit taller than Kon or Kinston, both 6-6, but Kager appears to have the family shooting gene. At just 205, he does have some filling out to do, but once he does, he looks like a big man with guard skills. Expect the offers to start rolling in.
