Five players wrote their names on the scoresheet as Chelsea saw off Roma in the Women's Champions League.
"Chelsea created a number of big chances today and put them away."
It was as simple as that at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Former Blues midfielder Fara Williams was spot-on in her assessment on Disney+ after Sonia Bompastor's Chelsea swatted Roma aside with ease to move into the top three in the Champions League table.
It was as straightforward a victory as the Blues would have hoped for in front of their home fans, with players queuing up to write their names on the scoresheet as Roma struggled to keep their myriad of attacking jewels at bay.
'No doubt Chelsea could create'
A 6-0 hammering of St Polten aside, Chelsea have been short on goals in recent weeks, finding the net just once each in draws against Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona before drawing a blank against Everton in defeat on Sunday.
That wasn't for the lack of trying, rather they lacked cutting edge.
Against Roma, Chelsea were significantly more efficient in their attacking play, hitting the target with 11 of their 18 shots at goal, scoring six times, which lies in stark contrast to their six shots on target from 30 attempts against Everton.
Several superb, sprawling saves from Roma keeper Olivie Lukasova prevented the Blues from hitting double figures on the night.
Speaking on Disney+, Williams added, "[Tonight] I think they showed that the chances they have created, they have been able to put away, which they haven't been able to do in recent weeks.
"I don't think there was any doubt that this team could create chances."
A goalscoring glut is just what the doctor ordered ahead of a crucial week, with a tricky trip to Brighton in the Women's Super League, followed by German giants Wolfsburg in their final league-phase game next Wednesday.
Sharing the load
Chelsea had five different goalscorers against Roma, including attackers, defenders and midfielders.
Some of them started the game, while others impacted off the bench. You can't ask for much more than that as a manager.
Bompastor said as much in her post-match interview: "It's really important to bounce back from that defeat and have the performance we had tonight and score that many goals from different players.
"It started with the ones who started the game, and the impact of the ones who came in the game was good. It was a real team performance."
Scorer of the second goal of the night Wieke Kaptein echoed her manager's view when speaking to Disney+ after the game: "I think we needed to come back from the last game and of course in the Champions League we are doing well, but we need to keep going. Today a lot of goal-scorers, a lot of different players, so that's really nice."
Perhaps the only negative from the Blues' fourth victory from five in the league phase was the absence of Sam Kerr from the scoresheet.
The club record scorer spurned three of the side's 'big chances' according to the Opta stats, which is most unusual, even if she is still making her way back to full sharpness after an ACL injury.
Nevertheless, a team notching six goals without their main striker is a very encouraging sign.
