No time for experiments, says Ben Youssef

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef says the technical team knows what its doing and insists there is no time to experiment with the squad.
This comes after Aden McCarthy was out of the squad since the beginning of November, before making his return to the bench in the last two Betway Premiership outings earlier this month.
As a result, the 21-year-old defender missed the CAF Confederation Cup matches against Egyptian sides Al Masry SC and Zamalek SC, respectively.
When quizzed on whether the technical team is still experimenting with the squad, Ben Youssef clarified that McCarthy was out injured and dismissed the notion of tactical decisions being experimental.
“Aden McCarthy was out because he got injured and if a player who took his position performs well what do we have to do? Also, we have a big squad, we have a load, we have to manage the load,” said the Tunisian mentor.
"You are not with us in training, you cannot know why we make the substitutions, if you ask me why we make the substitutions I can answer you. But to say it's experimental - we are not here to experiment.
"We have more than one season with the team, we know all the players, we are working with the team, we know which team we have to choose. We are working together with the technical staff and the board. We know what we are doing, we are not here to make experiments.
Chiefs end 2025 sitting in fourth place with 24 points from 13 games in the Betway Premiership and trail bitter rivals and log leaders Orlando Pirates with four points, having played one game more.
