Community player ratings from Chelsea’s latest bad day
1. JOSH ACHEAMPONG (6.9)
As with all our recent games during this four-game slide, only one or two players have managed to emerge with any credit from this performance, and this time that distinction belongs to young Josh Acheampong, who was finally given some proper minutes … and wouldn’t you know it, he again responded brilliantly. I’m not saying he should start every game, but he probably should be getting more minutes.
This is Acheampong’s third WAGNH Man of the Match award (in six starts); only Moisés Caicedo has more. Biases aside, the kid’s got serious talent and it feels like we could do a better job of nurturing it more actively.
2. REECE JAMES (6.0)
Reecey was inches away from winning this game, and being the Man of the Match. If he scores on that chance early in the second half and makes it 2-0, we probably take all three points. As it stands, he’ll have to settle for the assist on the opening goal from:
3. JOÃO PEDRO (5.7)
Good to see JP back on the scoresheet. Could certainly use that a bit more regularly.
