Amorim expected to offer Afcon update later

The availability of Bryan Mbeumo, Noussair Mazraoui and Amad Diallo for Manchester United's Premier League game with Bournemouth on Monday has taken on even more significance. United are yet to say whether they have managed to gain the trio's release from Africa Cup of Nations duty so they can play in the game, with head coach Ruben Amorim due to offer an update on the situation at his news conference on Friday afternoon.

However, United cameras filmed part of Thursday's training session at Carrington and there was no sign of Matthijs de Ligt, Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire, who all missed the 4-1 win at Wolves.

If all six were unavailable, Amorim would be down to 14 experienced outfield players, including defender Tyrell Malacia, who has been on the bench but not played any minutes since his stand-off with the club over the summer.

Academy products Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fredericson and Shea Lacey, who have all been on the bench this season, were shown training with the first team on Thursday.

Come back to this page later on Friday for all the key lines from Amorim.
