How Thiago Silva’s potential return to Europe affects an important Chelsea sale

January is just around the corner, and while Chelsea aren’t expected to make any major additions, there are certainly players they’d like to move on.

Top of the list, perhaps behind only Raheem Sterling, is Axel Disasi. The defender has been frozen out all season, training separately and playing just for the U21 team on occasion.

Chelsea hoping Milan follow through on interest in defender

There are now links coming from SempreMilan claiming that AC Milan are interested in the defender. We’re not too convinced just yet – we’ve heard countless rumours about teams wanting to buy Disasi since the start of summer and not one of them has come through with an actual offer.

But at some point our asking price will get low enough to match someone’s offer, and it could well be now. The 27 year old is surely desperate to resume his career, and Milan want some cheap extra depth. We also have a great relationship with the Italian side, having bought and sold multiple players from then in the recent past.

Incredibly, a potential return for Thiago Silva to his old club is also mentioned. To be honest, even a Disasi move sounds more realistic than that.

A loan move, like the one was saw to Aston Villa a year ago, is certainly a possibility once again, although a last resort for the Blues as always.

In other news…

Enzo Maresca has been pretty relaxed in press conference despite our bad recent results – that’s clearly his attitude to the whole slump we’re in now, and it’s going to be interesting to see if it gets the desired response from the players.

Chelsea’s nasty run of form, according to Trevoh Chalobah needs to use one key factor tomorrow to try and turn that around.
