Koumetio seeks 'boost in mindset'

Billy Koumetio insists widening the gap over bottom club Livingston will provide a crucial boost to Dundee's confidence. The 11th-place Dark Blues can move seven points clear with victory over David Martindale's men in West Lothian on Saturday. Billy Koumetio insists widening the gap over bottom club Livingston will provide a crucial boost to Dundee's confidence.

The 11th-place Dark Blues can move seven points clear with victory over David Martindale's men in West Lothian on Saturday.

Although Dundee lost 3-1 against Aberdeen last weekend, Koumetio believes there were a lot of positives.

"It's going to be a good challenge, and I think everyone is positive. We have a good mind about that game and we go there for a win," said the French defender.

"Everyone saw the way we played [last Saturday], which I think is better than what we showed from the beginning of the season. We had more of the ball, more control, a lot of chances as well, which is very positive.

"The result is not as we expected. But hopefully, we are going to have a win on the weekend.

"It's a good game, not just in terms of points, but as well for the mind of the team. Because once you get a win, hopefully a second one, and then the rhythm just keeps going.

"This is what we need. We need to find the momentum at this stage of the season. We are looking forward to this game because hopefully it's going to have a boost in our mindset."
