It’s only been 12 months since Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders dominated awards season, taking home nearly every trophy they possibly could in 2024. This season, things have been a bit different. Colorado finished their season with a record of 3-9 and struggled greatly down the stretch. Still, two Buffaloes were able to earn postseason recognition from the Big 12, making the conference’s second-team all-conference selection list.
Offensive tackle Jordan Seaton and wide receiver Omarion Miller are the two players in question who made the cut. If you watched the Buffs this season, this shouldn’t come as much of a shock.
Seaton has been one of the best offensive linemen in the country since arriving in Boulder in 2024. Unfortunately, due to no fault of his own, Colorado’s offensive struggles are the reason he wasn’t considered for other awards this season.
As for Miller, his 808 receiving yards and eight touchdowns speak for themselves. The junior receiver showcased elite route running and hands this season, despite working with three different starting quarterbacks.
Somewhat surprisingly, safety Tawfiq Byard was omitted from the all-conference list entirely. Byard quickly became one of CU’s best players in his first season in Boulder, flying around the field and commanding the Buffs’ defense, despite playing most of the season with a broken hand. An all-conference selection would have been more than deserved for Byard, but the fans in Boulder know how good he is and that’s really all that matters.
Despite the tough season, awards and recognition for good play are always good things and something to celebrate. Congrats, Jordan and Omarion!
