California and Florida state championship games are set while Georgia and Texas title games take center stage next week

The state championships are under way in Florida with several champions already crowned.

And California's top teams are beginning to face off in the Golden State's championship bowl games this weekend, highlighted by Saturday's matchup between the No. 7/SN No. 15 Santa Margarita [Rancho Santa Margarita, CA] Eagles and the No. 15 De La Salle [Concord, CA] Spartans.

Things are quiet in Georgia until Monday after last night's GHSA Class 5A semifinals. The SN NEXT No. 8 Gainesville [GA] Red Elephants ran roughshod over the Rome [GA] Wolves, 37-6, and the No. 27 Thomas County Central [Thomasville, GA] Yellow Jackets broke open a close game in the second half to down the Roswell [GA] Hornets, 49-28.

Finally, down in Texas, things are heating up as the best teams in the Lone Star State head into the state semifinals.
