PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — It might be the craziest game of the year.
Briggs Bucy scored 22 points and Sam Koch scored 21 points to lead Metamora past host Morton, 86-82, in triple overtime on Friday.
Koch hit five of six free throws in the third overtime to help the Redbirds (5-2, 1-1) win their first Mid-Illini Conference game of the season. Owen Adams scored 22 for Morton (3-2, 1-1) which closed regulation on an 8-0 to force overtime at 63-63.
Other winners in the Mid-Illini included East Peoria and Limestone.
Big 12 leader Normal Community got a 20-point, 12-rebound game from Chase Kasten as the Ironmen beat Champaign central, 67-55. Carter Harris scored 15 points and added six rebounds for the Ironmen.
Other Big 12 winners included Peoria High, Manual, and Bloomington. Dee-Mack, Pontiac, Peoria Heights, Prairie Central and North Fulton also won.
Girls basketball winners Friday included Morton, Normal Community, and Manual.
