Real Madrid megastar suffers serious setback in ongoing legal war with former club

The challenges Kylian Mbappe is facing are showing no sign of easing, and the Real Madrid forward is now dealing with growing issues that extend well beyond the pitch. 

Already struggling with physical discomfort that has disrupted his rhythm in recent weeks, Mbappe has now been confronted with another setback that directly affects his personal life and off-field stability.

According to reports emerging from France and relayed by SPORT, the French international has suffered a significant defeat in his ongoing and increasingly expensive legal battle with Paris Saint-Germain. 

Earlier this month, the Paris Court of Appeal delivered a ruling that went firmly against Mbappe, rejecting his appeal related to the lifting of precautionary seizures imposed on PSG.

What’s the story?

It must be noted that earlier this year, PSG successfully obtained the annulment of a seizure order placed on the club’s accounts, an amount that totalled no less than €55 million. 

That ruling, delivered in May, represented a major win for the Ligue 1 club and a serious blow to Mbappe’s legal position. 

Unsurprisingly, the Real Madrid star immediately appealed the decision, hoping to reverse the outcome.

The Court of Appeal has now shut that door, confirming that the seizure will not be reinstated.

The situation worsened further for Mbappe with a second ruling issued by the same court. 

In addition to dismissing his appeal, the Paris Court of Appeal ordered Mbappe to cover legal costs and pay €3,000 to PSG, citing abuse of power. 

The story is far from over

Now, the next chapter will unfold on December 16, when both Mbappe and PSG are due to appear before the Labour Court. 

That hearing follows proceedings held last November, after which the court reserved its judgment. 

A ruling is expected following the upcoming appearance, and it could have significant financial consequences for both parties.

Notably, at the heart of the dispute are competing claims involving astronomical sums, stemming from Mbappe’s abrupt and highly controversial departure from PSG to join Real Madrid.
