United States President Donald Trump has received members of the nation's ice hockey team that famously won the gold medal at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid in what is remembered as "The Miracle on Ice. " The US team comprising of amateurs and college players shocked top favourites Soviet Union and then clinched an improbable gold with another victory over Finland.

The US team comprising of amateurs and college players shocked top favourites Soviet Union and then clinched an improbable gold with another victory over Finland.
Trump recieved the players at the White House on Friday and signed a bill to award them Congressional Gold Medals.
"This was one of the biggest moments that I've ever seen in sports. And I like sports. These are the men who gave us one of the most storied athletic wins of all time," Trump said.
"It's called the Miracle on Ice, and I guess that's what it was."
The present team members wore the hats they had donned at the opening ceremony of the Games 45 years ago.
