The Heels hope to improve to 9-1 with a win over the Spartans.
After conquering the tough part of their non-conference schedule, the Tar Heels are back in action this afternoon to face off against South Carolina Upstate. UNC had to face off against Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky, and Georgetown to kick off their pre-ACC journey, and out of those games they only managed to drop one. The vibes in Chapel Hill are much better compared to last year, thankfully, and they hope to keep the good vibes flowing with a win over the Spartans.
UNC’s win over Georgetown proved to be the best win of the season, but it wasn’t because the Hoyas are a basketball powerhouse this season. It was overall a dominating win over a team that is well-coached, which is something that was few and far in-between last season. The only frustrating aspect of that game was that Caleb Wilson didn’t get to throw down the hammer on anybody like he wanted to, but obviously that is a very small, unimportant critique. This team is humming along nicely despite the fact that Seth Trimble is still out, but he is allegedly returning within the next couple of weeks if everything goes well. Today’s game should serve as one of two tune-up games in a row before the Heels have to face off against Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic on December 20th.
