A good night for the Catalan giants.
Barcelona fans enjoyed themselves on Saturday night as they watched Raphinha score twice to beat Osasuna 2-0 at Camp Nou.
The win sees Hansi Flick’s side extend their lead at the top of the table over Real Madrid to seven points with Los Blancos in action on Sunday against Alaves.
Real Madrid head into their match under a cloud after defeats to Celta Vigo in La Liga and Manchester City in the Champions League.
Their form has led to speculation that Xabi Alonso could be fired just months into his Madrid tenure, a factor that has not gone unnoticed in Catalunya.
“Xabi, stay!’ was the chant heard ringing about the Camp Nou on Saturday night as Barca fans poked fun at their rivals.
Flick was asked about Madrid and his team’s lead after the game but refused to get carried away.
“I’m not going to talk about our rivals. That’s not a question for me. It’s great that we won today and have a three-point lead, putting pressure on them; they’re seven points behind,” he said.
“For me, it’s fantastic to win and keep this momentum going. It’s great to see the team like this after a tough few weeks. We’re playing better now too. We’ve got players back. I’m not worried about our rivals.”
