Josh Jacobs injury: What status means for Week 15 vs. Broncos

Josh Jacobs is dealing with a knee injury and Emmanuel Wilson is dealing with an illness in Week 15. We break down what it means for fantasy football decisions.

The 9-3-1 Green Bay Packers head to Denver to take on the 12-2 Broncos this Sunday in a matchup of the AFC’s current No. 1 seed and the NFC’s current No. 2 seed. The Packers, who are a run first team usually, have their star running back Josh Jacobs officially questionable with a knee injury, while backup Emmanuel Wilson is also questionable, but with an illness.

Josh Jacobs injury updates

Jacobs had his knee tighten up on him last week against the Bears. He ended up being unable to practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but was able to get in a limited practice on Friday. That helped him to a questionable designation for the week. On Saturday, the team elevated RB Pierre Strong and downgraded Emmanuel Wilson to questionable with an illness.

Fantasy football analysis

Head coach Matt LaFleur sounded optimistic on Friday about how Jacobs was feeling, but didn’t give any insight into if he would play or not. Wilson would be his backup if Jacobs can’t go, but his ilness is something to keep an eye on. Usually NFL players still play with a questionable/illness tag, but we can’t really know what’s happening with someone.

The Broncos defense is tough, but whoever gets the start for the Packers at running back is worth starting in fantasy this week.
