Mo Dioubate, Jaland Lowe, and Brandon Garrison power Kentucky to statement win over Indiana

Key returns, renewed confidence and timely production fueled the Wildcats’ first marquee victory of the season.

Kentucky basketball finally delivered its first major win of the season Saturday night, riding standout performances from Mo Dioubate, Jaland Lowe, and Brandon Garrison to a 72–60 victory over Indiana at Rupp Arena.

The night began with the return of Dioubate, who hadn’t played since suffering an injury in the 83–66 loss to Michigan State in New York City on Nov. 18. The junior wasted no time making his presence felt.

Dioubate finished with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, added 12 rebounds for a double-double, and went 6-of-10 at the free-throw line. He also stuffed the stat sheet with five steals and posted a +18 in 22 minutes, giving Kentucky energy, toughness, and defensive disruption it had been missing.

Lowe followed with his most complete performance since returning from a shoulder injury. After re-injuring it in practice prior to the Eastern Illinois game, Lowe missed five games and struggled in limited minutes against Gonzaga and NC Central.

Against Indiana, he looked more like himself again, scoring 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting. He added five rebounds, two assists, and a steal. He finished with a team-high +24 in 24 minutes, providing stability and scoring punch in the backcourt.

Garrison rounded out the trio with a strong bounce-back effort. After being benched after a turnover against NC Central, he responded with six points, five rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal in 20 minutes, finishing +7.

For Kentucky, it was a much-needed breakthrough and a reminder of what this roster looks like when its key pieces click.
