Packers Inactives: Josh Jacobs, Lukas Van Ness good to go vs. Broncos

The Green Bay Packers will have both RB Josh Jacobs and RB Emanuel Wilson available against the Denver Broncos.

The Green Bay Packers announced their inactives for their game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, which includes the injured receiver/returner Savion Williams (foot). Beyond Williams, though, the rest of the Packers are healthy, which includes running back Josh Jacobs (knee), running back Emanuel Wilson (illness) and defensive end Lukas Van Ness (foot). All three were listed as questionable going into the game.

Packers Inactives

  • RB Pierre Strong Jr.
  • WR Savion Williams (foot)
  • OL Donovan Jennings
  • DE Barryn Sorrell
  • DT Quinton Bohanna
  • DT Nazir Stackhouse

The return of Van Ness means that rookie Barryn Sorrell is shut down at defensive end. Arron Mosby will also play over Sorrell for special teams reasons. The Packers have one more week to decide whether or not to bring up Brenton Cox Jr. or Collin Oliver from the injury lists, but if the team already has more ends than they know what to do with, then the chances of them being activated this year are slim.

Because both Jacobs and Wilson are able to suit up, Pierre Strong Jr., the practice squad running back who was elevated, is a healthy scratch. This exhausted Strong’s third and final elevation this season. Strong has yet to play in a Packers game after signing with the team in Week 2.

Defensive tackles Quinton Bohanna and Nazir Stackhouse remain healthy scratches as the team has pivoted from dressing five defensive tackles to just four defensive tackles following Devonte Wyatt’s season-ending ankle injury. Jordon Riley has been the preferred fourth defensive tackle for the Packers over the last two weeks, with Warren Brinson serving as the backup defensive tackle at both the under tackle and nose tackle positions.

If the team needs an extra roster spot down the line, don’t be surprised if Stackhouse ends up getting waived this season. The Packers clearly wanted to boost their nose tackle depth chart with the additions of Riley and Bohanna after Wyatt’s injury, which leaves Stackhouse just taking space on the 53-man roster without the prospect of playing.

Special teamer Kristian Welch, who suffered a concussion last week, is also going to play in this game. He was listed as questionable by the team on Friday when the Packers released their final injury report of the week.
