A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid continued his timely return to form in the final third on Sunday.
The player in question? Rodrygo.
Frontman Rodrygo of course grabbed the headlines in midweek, finally rediscovering his best form in a standout performance against Manchester City.
Along the way, the Brazilian brought to an end a hefty 32-game goalless streak across all competitions.
And as alluded to above, this evening, Rodrygo’s return to prominence only continued.
The 24-year-old was rewarded for his showing against Man City with a starting berth on the domestic front, as Real Madrid played host to Deportivo Alavés.
And en route to a 2-1 Blancos triumph, Rodrygo proved himself match-winner.
With the scoreline locked at 1-1 late on, the versatile attacker was slipped in by partner-in-crime Vinícius Jr, making no mistake in slotting home from close range.
And in the process, he brought to an end a goalless drought in La Liga stretching a full 11 months.
Rodrygo just scored his first league goal in 11 months.
