The Green Bay Packers began the second quarter with a second down inside the 15. After a short completion to bring up third and six, Jordan Love’s pass was broken up at the goal line by Riley Moss to bring out Brandon McManus for another field goal.

The Denver Broncos offense needed to start showing up and they got things going with a big third down conversion from Bo Nix to Courtland Sutton across midfield. After a false start penalty pushed them back to midfield, they did a quick end around to Marvin Mims Jr. who picked up eight yards to make second down a little more manageable.
An obvious interference by Micah Parson on a screen wasn’t called on second down, but Nix found Lil’Jordan Humphrey on third down anyway to convert and get the Broncos into field goal range. Two plays later on third and three, Nix rolled out to find a wide open Michael Bandy who ran it in from the touchdown and the lead.

The Broncos defense continued to struggle against the Packers passing attack. Those issues then began opening some holes in the run game for Josh Jacobs. They quickly found themselves back in the red zone on their next drive where Jacobs looked like he had scored a touchdown on a 10 yard run, but an illegal shift negated it. Two plays later, Love would drop a pass over Dre Greenlaw’s head to Jacobs for a touchdown.

The Broncos opened their next drive with a nifty run by RJ Harvey for nine yards, then Bo Nix unloaded down the field to Courtland Sutton for a 42-yard gain to the Packers 22-yard line.
Another quick pass to Sutton followed up by a near pick six that ended up complete to Troy Franklin who turned it up field for a first down and goal.
Harvey would bring the quarter to the two minute warning with a three yard carry up the middle to the Packers’ five yard line. On the next play Nix would fire in a bullet to a double-covered Lil’Jordan Humphrey at the goal line to put the Broncos back on top.
Broncos 14, Packers 13.
The Broncos defense continued leaving wide receivers wide open and far too much time on the clock. The Packers needed just two plays to get the ball across midfield and into field goal range thanks in part to a roughing the passer penalty. The ease with which they were able to move the ball all half should be a concern for Vance Joseph at halftime.
Brandon McManus would kick the field goal to put the Packers back on top heading into halftime. They’ll get the ball to start the second half too.
Packers 16, Broncos 14.
