The Bengals were shut out in a must-win game.
For the first time since 2020, the Cincinnati Bengals will end the season with double-digit losses as they drop to 4-10 inside of a frozen Paycor Stadium.
The Zac Taylor-led Bengals will now watch the postseason from the couch for the third straight season after a horrid 24-0 shutout loss against the Baltimore Ravens.
The scoreboard tells the story: The offense was at its worst in years, and the unit failed to score a single point in a must-win home game.
The offensive line shelled up and was unable to protect the quarterback. Burrow threw two interceptions (one pick-six), receivers were dropping passes, and the run game was nonexistent.
After the loss, Taylor somewhat accepted the blame for what transpired offensively.
“As a play-caller, that starts with me. When you walk away with no points, there is a huge amount of accountability that I have to take for that,” said Taylor.
Joe Burrow also had a few comments after his worst game in recent years, and he made it clear that the standard of winning is not there in Cincinnati right now.
“Bad football teams do losing things… Losing sucks… I think this is one of the worst games I’ve played. I hold myself to a high standard,” Burrow said.
Despite being out of the playoff mix, Burrow made it clear he plans to keep playing and finish out this season.
The Bengals now have three games left this season before decisions will need to be made for the team’s future in the coming years.
