JOPLIN, MO. — Football season has come to a close at the high school and collegiate level in the Four States while basketball season is starting to heat up!

We’ve got you covered with our top five plays of the week:

Play #5: McDonald County’s Dakota O’Brien (Pair of fast-break buckets in win vs Pea Ridge) —

McDonald County Girls Basketball’s Dakota O’Brien has had a strong start to the 2025/2026 campaign and that continued in the Mustang Classic tournament. Against Pea Ridge, O’Brien led the team in scoring including a pair of fast break buckets as seen in the video above.

Play #4: Carl Junction’s Rashaad McDonald (And-one basket vs. Webb City) —

Taking on cross-town rival Webb City, Carl Junction’s Rashaad McDonald got physical on a drive to the basket, fighting through some awkward contact before getting a shooters bounce on a two-point basket and the foul.

Play #3: Webb City’s Trae Turner (Spin move for an and-one basket) —

In transition, Webb City’s Trae Turner blew by a pair of Nevada defenders before capping off the play with a spin move towards the basket. Turner was fouled on his way up and still got the layup to drop despite the contact for an and-one.

Play #2: McDonald County’s Lane Harris (And-one put back in a 30-point performance) —

McDonald County’s Cael Carlin couldn’t get his drive attempt to go but Lane Harris was in the right spot at the right time, grabbing the rebound and going up for the put-back, fighting through contact from a pair of defenders on the way up. This was one of many highlights for Harris on the night in a 30-point performance for the Mustangs.

Play #1: Neosho Boys Basketball‘s Oliver Martin & Kaiden Asberry (Back-to-back breakaway steals) —

Our top play of the week goes to Neosho Boys Basketball’s Oliver Martin and Kaiden Asberry. Within a matter of seconds against Aurora, the Wildcats’ backcourt duo secured back-to-back breakaway steals, finishing the play on the other end with a pair of fast-break buckets.
