Top 10 at all four major championships
Winning at the highest level in golf is no easy task. The next best thing is keeping the gas on the pedal if winning cannot be done. In 2025, Scottie Scheffler did that. Not only did he make the cut in all 20 starts, he finished in the top 25 of every event. Furthermore, he finished in the top 10 at all four majors. That included a fourth-place finish at the Masters and a tie for seventh at the U.S. Open.
Dramatic BMW Championship victory
The postseason, no matter the sport, provide a little more pressure than the regular season. Scheffler faced that during the FedEx Cup Playoffs in August during the BMW Championship Leading by one on the 71st hole, Scheffler’s shot on the par-3 17th went into the greenside rough, setting up a difficult second shot. However, Scheffler defied the odds and sunk it for a chip-in birdie for one of his best shots of the year to win by two.
Third straight Byron Nelson Award
For the third consecutive year, Scottie Scheffler won the Byron Nelson Award for the lowest scoring average. Scheffler posted a 68.131 scoring average and became the first player since Woods in 2000 to lead the PGA Tour in all round rounds scoring, individually. Scheffler had a 67.45 round 1 scoring average, 68.00 in round 2, 68.40 in round 3 and 68.1 in round 4. The consistency was on display, despite missing the early portion of the season due to hand injury.
