Brandon Marsh, Justin Crawford and Adolis Garcia in the outfield. What could go wrong?!?

Let’s throw Otto Kemp in there for good measure!

The team’s signing of Adolis Garcia to (presumably) handle right field duties in 2026 means that the Phillies are likely moving on from Nick Castellanos. His tenure likely ends with a whisper and fighting words with the manager. There were definitely some ups to Castellanos’ tenure with the team, his catch in the 2022 NLDS against the Braves among the very top.

However, the team’s outfield is going to look rather different next season. With Garcia in right, the team is probably going to have Justin Crawford handle center field duties with Brandon Marsh taking over as the left handed side of a platoon in left field. Who he gets paired with, if he gets paired with anyone at all, will go a little more in determining how successful the revamped outfield is next season.

Today’s question: how excited are you about that revamped outfield? What could be a rather light hitting outfield in terms of over the fence power could be a decent defensive outfield if Crawford can adjust to playing a good defense in center at the game’s highest level. There are shades of the early 2010’s Mariners here in terms of that power/defense combination, but if nothing else, they have accomplished their goal of the outfield looking different.

Is that a good thing?
