Buford vs. Carrollton isn't just for the Georgia 6A state championship; it could decided the 2025 national title as well.
The Wolves and Trojans are ranked first and second, respectively, in the latest Sporting News High School Football Top 25 — giving the winner Tuesday night a clear claim to be considered the top team in the country this season.
Both teams are 14-0 and boast numerous Division I prospects throughout their rosters. Though Buford is a run-first offense, the man in the middle of it is QB Dayton Raiola, brother of former Nebraska QB Dylan. The younger Raiola decommitted from the Huskers last month.
Carrollton has used a two-QB attack all season, pairing senior three-star Mason Holtzclaw with dynamic freshman CJ Cypher, who has been the more productive of the pair.
