St. Mary's Colgan gets the win on the road! The Panthers handed Riverton its first loss of the season in a low-scoring battle. See the highlights and recap below.
RIVERTON, KS. — St. Mary’s Colgan Boys Basketball went on the road and handed Riverton its first loss of the 2025/2026 season 49-40 on Tuesday.
The first quarter was rather back and forth with both teams trading blows before eventually the Panthers turned things up a notch in the second quarter.
Riverton’s offensive rhythm was disrupted by some stout defense by St. Mary’s Colgan. The Panthers had several breakaway steal opportunities throughout this game and forced the Rams to take contested shots.
However, the Rams were never out of it. Riverton fought back from a 10-point deficit with a 6-0 run in the second quarter. The Panthers held a six-point lead at the halftime break, and maintained that lead throughout the second half.
Riverton falls to 5-1 overall with the loss and will look to bounce back next time out against Columbus on Friday, December 19.
As for St. Mary’s Colgan, the Panthers will look to make it three straight wins in a matchup against Liberal on Friday, December 19.
