The QB/WR boomerangs back to the Steel City.
Life as a practice squad player in the NFL is one full of ups and downs.
Less than 24 hours after releasing quarterback/wide receiver John Rhys Plumlee from the practice squad, the Steelers are bringing him back, a team source told Alan Saunders of Steelers Now on Wednesday.
Plumlee was released on Tuesday per the NFL transaction sheet and now returns to the same spot he vacated in a bizarre roster move for Pittsburgh.
It marks the fourth stint Plumlee has had with the team since he originally was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He has yet to appear in an NFL regular season game.
