Looking at the Falcons first, we received some encouraging news that receiver Drake London will likely play this week. Despite not practicing on Friday and having the questionable game designation, head coach Raheem Morris said today that he expects London to return to action this week. It’s worth noting that London has not practiced fully since he sustained his knee injury almost five weeks ago, and even this week only had a limited practice on Thursday. So him being downgraded to not practicing today is likely a precaution and rest situation.
EDGE James Pearce Jr. interestingly popped up on the injury report on Friday, after practicing normally all week. Pearce apparently has a foot issue which kept him out of Friday’s practice and has his availability for Sunday as questionable. That will certainly be something to keep an eye on, as Pearce is in contention for defensive rookie of the year due to his sack production this season. Raheem Morris did tell the Atlanta media on Friday that he feels good about the possibility of Pearce playing.
The Cardinals have yet to release their injury report for Friday, since they practice at a later time than the Falcons, so this will be updated later.
