Despite Diego Pavia's post-Heisman comments, Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea chose to stand behind him instead of suspending him for the ReliaQuest Bowl.

While reading the sports section in the morning paper, I saw where Vanderbilt head football coach Clark Lea is standing by his quarterback, Diego Pavia.
I thought maybe Lea would grab character by the neck and suspend Pavia for the ReliaQuest Bowl, following Pavia's inappropriate comments after the Heisman Trophy ceremony, but he didn't.
I recall many moons ago, when Alabama coach Paul "Bear" Bryant suspended QB Joe Namath from the final two games of the 1963 season, including the 1964 Sugar Bowl. Joe had violated the team's no-drinking policy, and The Bear did not play around.
Clark Lea had a great opportunity to show the community what he is made of. Unfortunately, he is made of mush.
I normally want Vandy to win, but I will be cheering for Iowa come game time. What a shame!
