Jake Paul's holiday festivities will come with a liquid diet. The YouTuber-turned-boxer underwent successful surgery Saturday morning to repair the broken jaw he suffered in Friday night's Netflix boxing match against Anthony Joshua.
Joshua, an Olympic champion and former two-time unified heavyweight titleholder, brutally knocked Paul out with a straight right hand in the sixth round of their heavyweight bout at Miami's Kaseya Center. Joshua knocked Paul down four times en route to the fight-ending sequence, dominating a bizarre and lopsided mismatch while out-landing the American 48 punches to just 16.
Paul was hospitalized immediately after the bout and later posted x-rays showing his jaw broken in two places.

After undergoing surgery Saturday morning, Paul posted images of two titanium plates inserted in his jaw and said he will be restricted to a liquid-only diet for the next seven days.
Just got out of surgery. Everything went smooth. Thanks for all the love. Lots of pain and stiffness. Gotta eat liquids for 7 days
S/o to the amazing team at Miami University hospital. Everyone was so gracious and caring.

Despite the brutal nature of the fight's finish, Joshua made it clear in the hours after Friday's bout that he was "not happy" with his performance, which included a slow start and Joshua fending off repeated dives at Joshua's legs by Paul as if the American was shooting MMA-style double-leg takedowns.
"I needed to do better,” Joshua said at the event's post-fight press conference. “It's a win, but it's not a success. I think my coach expects more from me and I expect more from myself.
"There was a lot riding on this fight, a lot of pressure, a lot of expectations. So I had to perform."
Joshua, at least, will be able to eat his holiday dinner without the use of a straw.
