Eagles vs. Commanders, Packers vs. Bears. One game has a lot more intrigue than the other!
We’ve got the College Football Playoff going on at the same time the NFL is wrapping up its regular season with some Saturday action. Let’s hope none of the remaining games in either sport are as bad as what Miami and Texas A&M trotted out.
Anyway, the Philadelphia Eagles take on the already eliminated Washington Commanders at 2 pm PT on FOX. An Eagles win clinches the NFC East and eliminates the Dallas Cowboys. A loss means the Cowboys can just get eliminated on Sunday by losing to the Los Angeles Chargers. Jayden Daniels is done for the season, so Marcus Mariota gets the call to start. There’s really nothing at stake for the Seattle Seahawks on this occasion.
The really big game at 5 pm PT (also on FOX) is the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, and that does have some implications for the Seahawks. If the 10-4 Bears lose to the Packers, that eliminates the Bears from the No. 1 seed chase. A Bears win would put them a game back of the Seahawks and make things even more interesting in the stacked NFC.
Remember that the Packers have no Micah Parsons for the rest of the season, so it’ll be interesting to see how the defense adjusts to life without Micah.
Enjoy!
