A look at the AFC playoff picture.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have the chance to make a massive late-season statement in Week 16. Going on the road to face the Detroit Lions, who are in desperate need of a win to stay alive in the NFC playoff race, a win to get Pittsburgh to 9-6 would put a ton of pressure on the Baltimore Ravens.
Should the Steelers win and the Ravens lose to the New England Patriots, the Ravens would have to defeat the Green Bay Packers in Week 17 to remain alive in the playoff race. However, if the Steelers lose to Detroit and the Ravens beat New England, each team’s respective Week 17 contests will be meaningless, and the division will be decided in Week 18 when Pittsburgh hosts Baltimore in the final game of the season.
Ahead of Week 16, here are the AFC North standings, as well as the overall playoff standings in the AFC.
