West Ham United are seriously looking at Fiorentina striker Moise Kean, as per reports from the Italian outlet Quotidiano Sportivo. The outlet indicates the Hammers want to strengthen their attacking options during the winter transfer window.
Moise Kean saga:
The 25-year-old Vercelli native has become a key target for the struggling Premier League club. They urgently need a reliable presence up front to improve their league position. Fiorentina currently sit at the bottom of the Serie A table.
They plan to offload several players to raise funds for new signings. The club hopes to climb out of the relegation zone. So, they view Kean as a useful option because he still holds solid market value despite the team’s struggles.
Kean’s time in Florence since arriving from Juventus in July 2024 has shown mixed form. He experienced difficulties previously at both Everton and Paris Saint-Germain. However, the move to Italy initially lifted the Italian’s confidence.
He scored regularly throughout the 2024/25 season. Nevertheless, this 2025/26 campaign tells a different story. The Italian international now faces ongoing challenges. He has three goals and three assists across 18 appearances in all competitions.
Kean’s drop in numbers matches La Viola’s poor results. They have not won a single league game this term. Even so, Kean still has a strong reputation and plenty of upside. Several clubs are looking at him seriously. West Ham United are at the front of the chase for his signature. This points to a possible Premier League return soon.
The East London club has watched Kean for a long time. Their situation shows how hard it has been to find a consistent goalscorer. They still feel that problem even after trying players like Niclas Fullkrug and Evan Ferguson.
Both failed to give the finishing quality the team needed. Veteran Callum Wilson certainly offers quality in attack. However, his frequent fitness problems stop him from becoming a fully dependable option. These issues push West Ham to search the market for a capable striker.
