Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton (ankle) is trending towards playing against the Patriots on Sunday night.
The Baltimore Ravens could be without multiple key defenders on Sunday night against the New England Patriots.
Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (foot) is already expected to miss the contest, while safety Kyle Hamilton (ankle) and defensive tackle John Jenkins (illness) are both questionable.
Hamilton’s absence would have a huge, potentially game-tipping impact on the game, but he is “more likely to play than not,” per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. It has been difficult to get Hamilton off the field in his career, but he sustained the injury in Friday’s practice, giving him only one day to rest and recover. He will likely go through a pre-game workout on Sunday evening to determine his final status.
The Ravens have no one player who can replace Hamilton, but having Ar’Darius Washington back on the field will give them another option to fill his various roles. The play of Malaki Starks and Alohi Gilman will also become even more crucial to Baltimore’s defensive success.
The Ravens also added defensive lineman Brent Urban to their injury report on Saturday. Like Jenkins and Lamar Jackson earlier in the week, Urban is dealing with an illness that appears to be spreading in Baltimore’s locker room. Josh Tupou was elevated from the pratice squad with Jenkins and Urban both questionable, but an absence from both would likely bring rookie Aeneas Peebles back on the field.
The Ravens will post their inactives at 6:50 p.m. ET, so keep a close eye on Baltimore Beatdown.com and X account (@BMoreBeatdown) for more updates on their injured players’ statuses.
