PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) – The New England Patriots hand the Steelers an early Christmas gift, rallying to beat the Ravens on Sunday night 28-24, opening up a door for Pittsburgh to clinch the AFC North and a playoff berth with a win next week in Cleveland.

A Steelers win over the Browns, or a Ravens loss Saturday at Green Bay would secure the division title, meaning the Steelers could take the field Sunday with the division already in hand.

New England closed a two score gap in the fourth quarter Sunday night to beat Baltimore. A game in which Lamar Jackson left in the first half with a back injury. In winning, New England clinched its own playoff berth. The Patriots are currently the no. 2 seed, right behind the Denver Broncos.

Penalties take points off the board twice, as Pittsburgh holds on in Detroit

It’s been an up and down year for Pittsburgh, but the Steelers have played their best down the stretch winning three-straight games after Sunday’s dramatic victory in Detroit.

That win extended Mike Tomlin’s streak without a losing season to 19-years. Fans, however, hope he can break his playoff win drought. Pittsburgh has not won a playoff game since beating the Chiefs in January, 2017. Since then, Pittsburgh has lost 6-straight including a 28-14 loss to Baltimore last winter.
