'Progress' under Nancy but striker concerns abound

Celtic used to score from all over the park. Only three points behind Hearts if we win the game in hand. Alan: It is unreasonable to blame a manager for the many chances (and not a few sitters) that have been missed against Hearts, Dundee United and Aberdeen.

We asked for your views on Celtic's first win under new manager Wilfried Nancy as they beat Aberdeen 3-1.

Here are some of your thoughts:

Martin: Green shoots of revival, but we need a goalscorer and we need to punish the opposition. Celtic used to score from all over the park. Hopefully this was the beginning of a new successful era.

John: I am pleased to finally get the win we needed. You cannot blame the manager when we miss so many chances. I hope we get a top striker in who can improve the attacking credentials of the team. Only three points behind Hearts if we win the game in hand.

Patrick: A win is a win. The concerning number of shots missed will need addressing in the transfer window.

Andy: A win at last. Still glaringly obvious we need two new centre-backs and two new strikers. If we had a finisher, the game was over at half-time. Progress is there to be seen and this style of football will be exciting but without the right personnel it won't work.

Alan: It is unreasonable to blame a manager for the many chances (and not a few sitters) that have been missed against Hearts, Dundee United and Aberdeen. Such misses are the result of selling Kyogo Furuhashi and letting Adam Idah go. Current trouble is a function of an inept transfer window.

Sean: Happy for the manager to get that first win under his belt, must have felt like everything was going against him and I have no idea how he handled the pressure being put on him by all the fans. Hopefully we can kick on from here.

Kev: Opposing teams can read and counter-act Nancy's tactics, as they did with Rodgers' before him. There are no surprises in the repetitive cycle of the Premiership. A Celtic team with only three defenders, featuring the error-prone Liam Scales and Kasper Schmeichel, will be repeatedly turned over.
