SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri State Lady Bears wrapped up the non-conference portion of their schedule Monday afternoon against Central Arkansas.

Beth Cunningham’s team was looking to snap its longest losing skid of the season, three games.

In our Bear Nation update, it wasn’t easy because the Bears from Arkansas attacked MoState from the opening tip-off.

Jenna Cook knocks down this three to get Central Arkansas going.

End of first quarter Maiesha Washington from Arkansas hits this jumper, two of her career high 14 points, it was 20-20 after one.

But in the second quarter Kaemyn Bekemeier took over, she scored nine straight points to put the Lady Bears in front.

And Missouri State was up 35-28 at the half.

Third quarter, Cady Pauley hits this jumper to keep the Lady Bears in front by five.

Then Bekemeier is stripped of the ball, but it goes right to Kendal Brueggen who gets the basket.

But the day belong to Repmo’s Bekemeier, she had a double, double with 24 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, all career highs for the junior.

“It was very important especially with us going on this break. We knew we needed that win. I think we had a lot of steam built up from the last three games. You could feel it in practice. We were really eager to get a win underneath our belt going into the break,” Bekemeier.

“I’ve always been impressed with her ability to just have the right mental approach. So it was great to see a game that was so frustrating in the last one. Then to come back and have a career game for us. I mean just really led the way,” said Cunningham.
