In the modern era of college football, every team is impacted by the transfer portal, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are no exception. The portal officially opens on Jan. 2, 2026, the day after the CFP quarterfinals.
Schools and players will have to wait until that date to officially communicate with one another. With the closure of the spring portal period, this is now the one time a year players have a chance to leave. The transfer portal officially closes on Jan. 16, 2026
Players in the CFP national championship game on Jan. 19 will receive an additional five portal days, which will run from Jan. 20 to 24. Last season, more than 4,900 FBS players and more than 3,200 entered the transfer portal.

Dylan Raiola - Quarterback
In his career at Nebraska, Raiola tallied 4,819 yards, 31 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He also set multiple school records for the Huskers, season completion percentage (72.4), consecutive completions (20), freshman passing yards (2,819) and freshman completion percentage (67.1).
Raiola joined Nebraska as the top 2024 quarterback recruit in the country, passing for nearly 8,500 career yards with 88 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions in his high school career. He is now expected to enter the portal with two years of eligibility remaining.

Malcolm Hartzog - Defensive back
Hartzog was a solid contributor during his time in Lincoln. He was a member of the 2022 recruiting class and had an impact immediately. He had three interceptions and a 30-yard blocked punt return against Indiana. He also earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors that year. Overall, he recorded 108 tackles and eight interceptions in 38 games. He will have one more year of eligibility remaining.

Caden VerMaas - Safety
VerMass was a local product, having been a standout at Millard North High School. He had 93 tackles, five interceptions and four forced fumbles over the course of his high school career. He played in two games as a freshman in 2025. VerMaas will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Maverick Noonan - Linebacker
Noonan committed to Nebraska in 2022 and played in six total games for the Huskers across the last two seasons after redshirting in 2023 following a knee injury. He tallied two tackles, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery during his tenure at Nebraska. He will enter the portal with two years of eligibility left.
Marcos Davila - Quarterback
Davila came to Lincoln in December 2024. He is still traveling with the team for the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 31 and did not see the field for the Huskers this season. Davila originally signed with Purdue out of high school in 2024, where he redshirted and did not appear in a game. He was a talented quarterback coming out of high school. He threw for over 9,100 yards and 93 touchdowns at the high school level.

Tristan Alvano - Kicker
Alvano finished his third year at Nebraska after playing behind California transfer Kyle Cunanan. Alvano joined the Huskers in 2023 and earned the starting job as a true freshman. He kicked 9-of-15 in field goals and 27-of-27 in PATs in 2023 and set a freshman record for the Huskers after landing a 55-yard field goal against Purdue.
Jamarion Parker - Running back
Parker didn't play this season. He committed to Nebraska in June 2024, after initially deciding on Arkansas in September 2023. He arrived in Lincoln after finishing a stellar high school career. The St. Louis, Missouri, native tallied over 3,600 rushing yards for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, becoming one of the top running backs in the state, receiving two first-team all-state accolades and earning a four-star rating. He has four years of eligibility.
