Vinicius Jr.’s substitution against Sevilla sparked an uncomfortable moment for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. As the Brazilian winger left the pitch, sections of the crowd voiced their displeasure, reacting to a performance that failed to meet the stadium’s demanding standards.
Vinicius’s visible frustration as he was replaced by Gonzalo García only amplified the tension surrounding the moment.
Inside the dressing room, however, the picture is different. Vinicius remains a central figure within the squad and continues to receive strong backing from teammates. Eduardo Camavinga is among those closest to him, and his name entered the discussion after post-match footage aired by Movistar+ circulated online.
The broadcast appeared to show Camavinga speaking forcefully following a defensive sequence during Sevilla’s press, with the French midfielder seemingly addressing Vinicius. Jude Bellingham was also seen attempting to defuse the situation on the pitch as Madrid navigated a difficult phase of the match.
Within the club, that interpretation was rejected. Those close to the squad viewed the clip as misleading and unrepresentative of what actually occurred. Shortly afterward, Camavinga addressed the matter directly on social media to shut down speculation of internal criticism.
“Leave him alone. I wasn’t talking about him,” Camavinga wrote on X, making clear that the exchange was not aimed at Vinicius while attempting reinforcing the sense of unity within the group.
Vinicius has found himself under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks, but Camavinga’s response highlighted a key reality at Valdebebas: while the Bernabéu can be unforgiving, the dressing room remains firmly behind him.
