USC legend annihilates 'imposters' for canceling Notre Dame football rivalry in viral rant

The Notre Dame-USC rivalry is taking a backseat for the time being, which has gotten back to former players who were huge parts of the annual rivalry. One former USC player lashed out on social media over the ordeal, citing people not doing "Trojan things" as a massive drawback.

Former NFL and USC Trojans wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson is not a fan of the recent announcement about the rivalry with Notre Dame coming to an abrupt halt.

Johnson, who knows what it's like to beat the Fighting Irish having done so during his stint with the Trojans, lashed out with a brief message reacting to the developments and taking a swipe at the athletic department on social media.

“I don’t know what the [expletive] is going on with our athletic department,” Johnson said. “We’ve got people in there that are not Trojans, that don’t know anything about being Trojans, running our athletic department… Why don’t we just not play football? How about that? We not going to play Notre Dame again, possibly, until 2030, is what I’m understanding. That doesn’t make any sense… We running from teams now? We running from Notre Dame? Hell, why don’t we run from Oregon and Michigan and Ohio State and Wisconsin? Why don’t we just not be in a conference? … Why would we cancel our biggest rivalry? Because we can’t beat them? It makes zero sense.”

Johnson isn't a fan of Trojans coach Lincoln Riley either, primarily given the fact he has yet to qualify for the CFP the last few seasons even with high expectations.

“We got a head coach that knows nothing about being a Trojan,” Johnson said. ”I’m not one of go in on the USC football coach. But if I can remember correctly, I had Lincoln Riley talking about ‘Well, I don’t know if I want to play them in the future.’ You ain’t going to be here in the future. Especially if you keep missing the playoffs. You not going to be here in the future, I promise you that.”

No matter how it's interpreted, the Trojans are under an unavoidable microscope of "imposters" as Johnson put it.

Now, it's up to them to fix it
