The Glazers have hardly got anything right, be it on the pitch or off it. The disgusting apathy towards the iconic Old Trafford is a case in point.
Once considered the greatest stadium in all the land, the iconic venue has fallen into disrepair, with matchgoing fans at pains to point out the various issues.
From overflowing toilets to falling debris to the infamous roof leak, the Theatre of Dreams had become the stuff of nightmares.
However, INEOS seem to be slowly but surely trying to help the club recover its former glories.
Old Trafford has been neglected for far too long
While on the pitch success has remained scant, there have been improvements of note in the club’s facilities.
Carrington has been revamped, and there are massive plans afloat to build a new “Wembley of the North” for the first team.
But as per The Sun, the co-owners are also eyeing fixing certain things at Old Trafford until then.
There are plans to upgrade the drainage system in a bid to fix the notorious roof leaks, while the pitch will also be renovated.
INEOS planning to fix a few things
The home and away dugouts will be fixed in accordance with UEFA rules, as the club targets a return to playing in Europe from next season.
“MANCHESTER UNITED will upgrade the Old Trafford drainage system in the summer to combat its infamous roof leaks.
“United also plan to renovate the pitch and upgrade the home and away dugouts in compliance with Uefa rules.”
As for the new stadium, a tentative and rather ambitious timeline of 2030 has been set, but there have been difficulties with land acquisition and the design.
