Chet Gresham takes us through the top 75 PPR running backs for Week 17
Welcome to Week 17 of the fantasy football season. It’s now or never! You punched your ticket to a fantasy championship. Just keep doing what you’ve been doing. You’re doing great!
Week 17 byes
None.
RB streamer of the week
Michael Carter, Cardinals at Bengals
The Cardinals backfield has been a case of attrition, as they’ve lost three starters to injury this season. Carter is the current next man up and he gets a great matchup against the Bengals poor run defense. Only the Giants have given up more yards per carry, while no team has allowed as many rushing yards.
RB injuries
Quinshon Judkins, Browns
Judkins suffered a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle on Week 16. His recovery time looks to be 5-6 months. To finish out the season, Dylan Sampson, who looks like he’ll be able to return from his own injury this week, should get the lead role against the Steelers.
TreVeyon Henderson, Patriots
Henderson suffered a concussion in Week 16 and will need to pass through protocol to play against the Jets in Week 17. Rhamondre Stevenson would agin see extra work if Henderson misses.
Woody Marks, Texans
Marks missed last week with his lingering ankle injury and Jawhar Jordan took over the lead role. It sounds like the Texans hope to get Marks back this week when they face the Chargers, but if not, Jordan should see the lead role again.
Kimani Vidal, Chargers
Vidal suffered a neck injury in Week 16 that was worrisome, but it sounds like the injury isn’t as bad as it could have been. Vidal has a shot to play this weekend, but if he can’t, Hassan Haskins would see work behind Omarion Hampton.
Alvin Kamara, Saints
Kamara suffered an MCL sprain in Week 12 and hasn’t practiced since. They haven’t shut him down though, so there’s always a chance he’ll play this week, but not a great one. Audric Estime is the nominal starter with Kamara out.
Aaron Jones/Jordan Mason, Vikings
Both Jones and Mason are dealing with injuries, but Mason didn’t return to the game last week with his ankle injury, while Jones did. The Lions were just run over by the Steelers on the ground, so maybe whoever plays at RB this week for the Vikings can get something going.
