The news came out of nowhere.
On Thursday morning, Chris Rodriguez Jr. was added to the Washington Commanders injury report as questionable with an illness.
And when inactives were released for their game on Christmas afternoon against the Dallas Cowboys, Rodriguez was officially out.
All of a sudden, fantasy football players will need to pivot.

The obvious choice is Jacory Croskey-Merritt, if the rookie RB is on your roster or available on the waiver wire.
If JCM is taken, it's a tougher move.
The Browns will have a new workhorse this week with Quinshon Judkins out: Dylan Sampson should be the starter and is possibly available.
Audric Estime from the Saints wouldn't be an awful add, either.
If you've got Rodriguez in a FLEX spot, that opens up a lot more possibilities with both wide receivers and tight ends in play, too.
Wideouts like Chimere Dike, Adonai Mitchell or Jalen Coker could be available.
The most fun tight end possibly available is Taysom Hill, who had 12 carries last week for the Saints and also threw a touchdown. He should get a somewhat similar workload this week.
