Filip Jorgensen wants to leave Chelsea in January, but the Blues don’t want to change their goalkeeping options next month according to The Athletic.
Jorgensen joined Chelsea from Spanish side Villarreal in the summer of 2024 in a deal thought to be worth around £20.9m.
The Denmark international has played second fiddle to Robert Sanchez for the majority of his time at Stamford Bridge, barring a brief spell last season.
Chelsea don’t want to let Filip Jorgensen leave in January
Chelsea opted against signing a new keeper in the summer despite actively pursuing AC Milan star Mike Maignan.
That decision seems to have been vindicated by the form of Sanchez, who has really improved and is looking a safe pair of hands between the sticks.

With the World Cup taking place next summer Jorgensen has made it clear he wants to leave for more first team football.
The Dane has the opportunity to be Denmark number one next summer, but if he stays at Chelsea that’s unlikely to happen as he’s not playing.
Any decision to let Jorgensen leave is up to Chelsea, and The Athletic have reported Chelsea don’t want to change their goalkeeping options next month.
Jorgensen has struggled for form this season, and has made just five appearances, with just one of those coming in the Premier League, whilst Enzo Maresca has admitted he’s not spoken to the player about his future.
Mike Penders impressing at Strasbourg
Whether Chelsea let Jorgensen leaves remains to be seen, but the Blues already have a future number one on their books in Penders.

The Young Belgian is highly regarded at Chelsea, and has impressed on loan at Strasbourg so far this season, but when he’s ready to make the step up remains to be seen.
The 20-year-old could ideally do with another season on loan, and the form of Sanchez could make that decision much easier for Chelsea to make.
