Fresno St. grinds out win in Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl

Fresno State Football, led by first-year head coach Matt Entz, won the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl with an 18-3 victory over Miami (OH), finishing the season with a 9-4 record.

TUCSON, AZ (KSEE/KGPE) – Snoop Dogg may have to turn over the title of “the Doggfather” after Matt Entz’ first season at the helm of Fresno State Football.

The Bulldogs punctuate the 2025 season with a hard fought 18-3 win over Miami (OH) in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl.

Fresno State overcomes a slow offensive start, leaning on their defense and special teams throughout the early stages. In the first quarter, Senior DB Jakari Embry sparked some early momentum by forcing the game’s first turnover with an interception. Bulldog offense, unable to convert in the red zone in the first half, was forced to settle for three Dylan Lynch FG’s (28-yards, 23-yards & 25-yards). Taking a 9-3 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, despite big plays from EJ Warner and Josiah Freeman in the passing game (7 receptions, 143 yards), Fresno State was unable to find the end zone until the fourth quarter. Finally the ‘Dogs were able to string together a 13 play, 70-yard scoring drive to begin the final frame. With Warner finding Sophomore TE Richie Anderson on a 2-yard touchdown pass.

After adding a 37-yard insurance field goal from Lynch, Fresno State was able to salt away a victory to finish their season at 9-4.

With the win, Matt Entz now joins Jeff Tedford as the only two, first-year head coaches to win a bowl game for the Bulldogs.
