FC Bayern’s Leon Goretzka might not be going anywhere.
According to a report from Seb Stafford-Bloor of The Athletic (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is not thinking about a January exit at the moment:
Leon Goretzka is focused on the second half of the season with FC Bayern.
In addition, Stafford-Bloor is also reporting that Tottenham Hotspur is actually not interested in Goretzka, countering another report from TEAMtalk, which indicated Spurs coach Thomas Frank wanted to bring in Goretzka:
Tottenham currently have no interest in the midfielder.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg checked in to confirm the reporting from The Athletic as well:
🚨❌ Understand despite other reports, Tottenham are not working on a transfer for Leon #Goretzka in January, as also reported by @SebSB. This is clearly denied.
At present, there are no indications that Goretzka will leave FC Bayern in January. His contract expires in the summer. Vincent Kompany holds him in very high regard and greatly values his performances.
Vincent Kompany has reportedly let it be known that he does not want to change much about the squad, so it seems like a safe bet that Goretzka will stay put until the summer.
