Seattle continues their in-season roster shuffling and place another player on IR.
The Seattle Seahawks have made a few roster shuffles as they prepare for their 2025 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks announced that they have placed wide receiver Cody White on injured reserve. Additionally, safety D’Anthony Bell has been waived.
White suffered a groin injury during the week 17 game against the Carolina Panthers, one that head coach Mike Macdonald said would keep him out for a while. This injured reserve designation effectively ends White’s 2025 season. The Seahawks seemingly would want Bell back on the practice squad if he were to clear waivers.
To take these two players spots on the 53-man roster are undrafted rookie offensive tackle Amari Kight off of the practice squad, and linebacker Derick Hall, who is returning from his one-game suspension. Kight had already used his three practice-squad elevations, so Seattle would have needed to sign Kight to the 53-man roster if they wanted him to be able to play again. With Charles Cross still nursing an injury, the added depth to the offensive tackle position makes sense. As for Hall, when he was suspended for one-game, the Seahawks signed D’Anthony Bell to the 53-man roster, so it also makes sense for Hall and Bell to swap places once again; Hall to the 53-man roster, and Bell to the practice squad (if he clears waivers).
The other opening that was created was on the practice squad (via Kight’s signing to the 53-man roster). To fill that vacant spot, wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. was signed to the Seahawks practice squad. Foster was an undrafted rookie out of Michigan State who spent time with Seattle this past offseason before being waived in August with an injury designation.
