Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has hit out at the constant chopping and changing of the team, and doesn’t believe it’s helping the Blues.
The Blues were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge as they dropped more points in the race for Champions League football.
Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez scored for Chelsea, but they conceded two goals from long throw ins, and were lucky not to lose.
Chris Sutton criticises Chelsea rotation
As expected Enzo Maresca made a number of changes to the team which lost to Aston Villa, with Malo Gusto, Estevao, Josh Acheampong, Wesley Fofana and Liam Delap handed starts.
Chelsea were all over the place defensively in the first half, and lacked control with the game going from end to end like a basketball match.

Maresca threw on Reece James, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto in the second half, but that wasn’t enough for Chelsea to find a winner.
Chelsea were booed off at full time, and now have just one win in their last seven games, and Sutton feels the constant changing isn’t helping.
“Chelsea’s chopping and changing really doesn’t help them,” he said as quoted on X.com.
“By keeping consistency in a team, you build relationships and understandings.”
Tough Manchester City task up next
Next up for Chelsea is a trip to Manchester City on Sunday, which is probably the last place you want to go when on a bad run of form
Maresca is hopeful Marc Cucurella will be available having missed the Bournemouth game, but the Blues will be without Moises Caicedo.

Caicedo will be suspended after getting booked against the Cherries, and his absence makes Chelsea task that much harder.
Maresca will likely go with James in midfield or Andrey Santos, and it will be interesting to see how the Blues cope without the Ecuadorian.
